What we do

We help school, university, and bursary-funded students access tutoring support across a wide range of subjects. Our model is designed to make tutor allocation, lesson tracking, billing, and student progress management easier for every side of the relationship.

Students

Request tutors, manage lessons, review billing, and keep track of support for the modules or subjects that matter.

Tutors

Receive allocations, log lessons, manage supporting documents, and stay aligned with students and bursary expectations.

Bursaries

Oversee funded students, monitor progress, review invoices, and coordinate tutoring support from one dashboard.

Our story

123tutors started from a simple observation: finding a tutor in South Africa often meant endless messages, unclear fit, and weak accountability — especially when a bursary or school programme was paying the bill. We set out to build a layer that respects how real tutoring works: clear learner context, deliberate tutor fit, and visibility for everyone involved.

Today the platform supports school and university learners, working professionals upgrading skills, and bursary teams who need tutor allocation, lesson tracking, and reporting in one place. We are profiled across the startup and media ecosystem, with programmes such as Grindstone and TuksNovation backing the company's growth.

National reach

Impacting students across South Africa

We partner with leading universities and institutions nationwide to deliver high-quality tutoring and academic support — online and in person where logistics allow. Live platform scale is reflected in the stats above.

How we operate

123tutors combines tutor matching, lesson administration, and bursary reporting into one workflow. The goal is not just tutor access, but a clearer operational layer around hours, accountability, communication, and service quality.

Families often arrive looking for a maths tutor, online tutor, or matric tutor. The platform is designed so those high-intent searches can lead into a structured request flow rather than a disconnected list of profiles.

Outcomes we aim for

Every learner is different, but across the network we target meaningful grade movement where tutoring is the right lever — historically cited in the 10–30% improvement range for engaged programmes, alongside higher confidence and better exam technique. We treat those figures as directional, not a guarantee for every case.
